Vegan chef and author Anthony Milan Ross has been arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree murder and more than a dozen counts of aggravated assault on an officer.

According to local media, Ross, who was arrested on Christmas Day, reportedly exchanged gunfire with police after a six-hour standoff in an Arizona apartment complex.

Ross was reportedly in Phoenix visiting his children, who lived with estranged wife Iris.

Witnesses told police they heard a number of gunshots from in and around his apartment.

When police arrived at the complex, they found Iris’ body.

Standoff

The standoff between officers and the chef then ensued.

According to officers, they hoped one or both children were still alive, but it transpired they had both been killed.
