Vegan Milk Brand Pledges To Donate $75,000 To Legal Firm ‘Fighting Against Racial Injustice’

Vegan milk brand Silk has pledged to donate $75,000 to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational fund – one of America’s top legal firms that are ‘fighting for racial justice’.

The brand took to social media to support the Black Lives Matter movement – which has recently been propelled into the mainstream following the killing of George Floyd.

‘Not the time for silence’

On Instagram, Silk wrote: “Now is not the time for silence. We’ve been listening, learning, and reflecting on what we can do better now and in the long-term to make progress toward a more inclusive world.

“We are dedicated to being active participants in driving the critical changes needed for racial equality in our society.”

‘We stand with you’

The company added that the donation ‘cannot erase the discrimination Black communities have faced for centuries’ but said it was the company’s first step in its ‘ongoing commitment to support systemic change’.

“We welcome your ideas and feedback on how we can better show up and drive real change. We see you. We hear you. We stand with you,” the brand added.
