A vegan book which teaches children about how animals are all sentient individuals has reached five countries.

Vegan Adventures with Barnyard Friends, by Matt Bennett, was self-published a year ago in November 2017.

Since then, the book has reached 15 states across the US and five countries. Bennett now has plans to expand his title’s reach, getting it into school libraries and other children’s programs.

Non-graphic

The 50-plus page book is presented in a non-graphic way which is child-friendly.

According to Bennett, the drawings and illustrations featured in it are designed to keep children immersed and entertained.

They are also supplemented with workbook activities and puzzles.

“The book introduces children to the concept that all animals are individuals with unique personalities rather than products meant for a store-shelf,” Bennett told Plant Based News.

“It is written in a non-graphic way and uses engaging puzzles and stories to help the children learn about and connect with the animals that are used for food and clothing.

“Children also learn about the importance of protecting the environment as well as fun recipes they can make with their parents.”
