Two-time world free running champion – and vegan advocate – Timothy Shieff has opened up about toxic masculinity, veganism, and new plant-based film The Game Changers.
Shieff discussed these topics and more for a Plant Based News podcast, during an interview with PBN Co-founder Robbie Lockie.
The Game Changers
Shieff, who is part of The Game Changers – which is executive produced by Hollywood heavyweight James Cameron and looks at the health benefits of a plant-based diet – says the film is aimed at changing the minds of men when it comes to veganism.
He said: “It features James Wilkes – an ultimate fighting champion – on his quest to find alpha males who are vegan, and strong and great role models – and to show people that you can be a strong alpha male, and be vegan.
“That way we can start to shift male perspectives, because I think that’s one of the biggest issues when it comes to veganism.”

Weak
On the same topic of men and veganism, Shieff added: “People think it’s weak for a man to go vegan, actually it’s weak to care what people think about you.
“It’s weak not to go vegan because you think someone might judge you for it, if you think your mate might not like you, or your friends might laugh at you and make jokes.
“For me that’s real bravery: to say you guys can say what you want. I know what I see, I know what I believe, I know how I feel when I do it, so I’m going to do it.”
