Beyond Sushi has raised more than $3,000 to help healthcare workers amid the coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic.
The eatery, which has seven locations in New York, will deliver more than 250 plant-based meals to feed medical teams at six different hospitals.
‘Stronger together’
“In New York City, our healthcare professionals are overwhelmed by the growing cases of coronavirus. They are putting their lives on the line and working tirelessly for the community. They need hearty, nutritious meals to keep them going…that’s why we’re here!” the company wrote on its fundraiser.
“At Beyond Sushi, our mission is to make high-quality and accessible plant-based/kosher food. We’ve been serving the NYC community for 8 years, and we plan to continue doing so for years to come.
“Help us stand with all healthcare professionals and send them a healthy, sustainable meal to fuel their daily fight in this crisis. Your donation directly funds our efforts. We are stronger together!”
Support + Feed
Beyond Sushi has also joined the Support + Feed initiative, spearheaded by Billie Eilish’s mom Maggie May Baird.
The organization aims to support plant-based restaurants who have been ‘forced to close their doors and are suffering as a result of the current pandemic’ by encouraging people to gift order food for those in need.
Vetted organizations and groups who have been ‘greatly impacted’ by the crisis, including first responders, hospitals, senior centers, food shelters, and women’s shelters will then receive the donations – delivered by environmental brand Conscious Cleanup.
