Medical student and vegan athlete Leo Venus features on the latest episode of Plant Based Newspodcast.

Leo Venus spoke to PBN Co-founder Robbie Lockie about his cultural background, how he became vegan, and the connection between meat eating and masculinity.

“Subconsciously you get conditioned throughout your childhood [to connect with meat and masculinity. It’s a belief I had until I started looking into the research.

“I always thought meat was an essential part of the diet, and if you wanted to be strong, and you wanted to be athletic – it was just one of those things.

“Obviously we all know when we eat meat that we’re eating animals but I used to think ‘I love animals but I have to eat them’.”
