NFL Quarterback Cam Newton has shared what vegan meals he will be eating this Thanksgiving.

The American footballer was recently asked how he will celebrate the holiday without eating turkey on the Greg Hill Morning Show.

‘Alternative meals’

“There will be some alternative meals, for sure,” Newton said

“My children and family will be coming up so I’m excited about that. But everything that you probably have for your Thanksgiving I can still probably have outside of like turkey…

“You got stuffing. You’ve got collard greens. You know, my family is kind of Geechie when it comes to having rice with everything.

“My family does a great red rice with sausage. You can transfer that with either Beyond or Impossible Meat. Mac and cheese, [I’ve also] found a way to do that too.”

Newton’s Built Like a Vegan campaign

Earlier this year, Newton featured in a video campaign titled Build Like a Vegan for animal-rights charity PETA.

“I’ve seen such a remarkable change in the way my body responds to the food that I eat,” the star said.

“I don’t want people to think you can’t love food being vegan or that there’s not good tasty food that’s vegan – that’s completely false.”

“People often ask ‘how do you get your protein?’ You get it in the same way you do [now], but in a fresher and cleaner way.”
