ŠKODA has created a ‘sustainable’ concept car with a completely vegan interior and creates less CO2 emissions.

100% recycled polyester

The ŠKODA VISION RS uses 100 percent recycled polyester thread to cover the car’s ‘floating seats, while the floor mats are made out of Piñatex – a leather alternative sourced from pineapple leaves.

With the combination of a petrol engine and electric motor, the car emits only 33 grams of CO2 per kilometer, which is nearly four times lower than the average car.

Zero emissions

If the driver chooses the purely electric drive (EV mode), they can travel up to 70 km on a fully charged battery without producing any emissions.

Christian Strube, ŠKODA’s board member for technical development, said: “Hybrid drive systems can bring their advantages fully to the fore in sporty cars such as the ŠKODA VISION RS or future RS models. The additional power of the electric motor is available instantaneously, delivering full torque, which helps when accelerating.

“This means the combustion engine can be smaller and even more efficient. In addition, the electric motor offers an electric range of up to 70 km. In cities or residential areas for example, this distance can therefore be travelled without producing any emissions whatsoever.”
