A top rugby player says he is feeling ‘pretty good’ and has suffered no negative effects from switching to a vegan diet.
TJ Perenara, scrum-half for the All Blacks and Hurricanes, recently tweeted about his diet looking for information.
Been doing some research on how to improve my diet as a vegan athlete and come across a lot of hate from people talking it down. I personally havent had any negative reaction from it and feel pretty good pre and post games. Anyone got an educated or uneducated opinion.?#Vegan

Going #vegan provides athletes with all the protein, complex carbohydrates, and other nutrients they need to get stronger and faster—without artery-clogging cholesterol and saturated fats. @gcmovie will inspire you to keep powering up on plants ?? https://t.co/hyNvNeaqev

The Game Changers
Multiple people suggested he watch plant-based documentary The Game Changers, which features a raft of top-performing athletes.
Vegan charity PETA tweeted: “Going vegan provides athletes with all the protein, complex carbohydrates, and other nutrients they need to get stronger and faster—without artery-clogging cholesterol and saturated fats. The Game Changers will inspire you to keep powering up on plants.”
The star revealed he has seen it and said: “The only thing I dislike about it is the people who created the content are heavily invested in plant-based meat replacements.”
