A record number of activists are expected to attend The London March Against Fur as it prepares for its second annual demonstration.
Organized by animal-rights organization Evolve Activism, the march will take place on November 23 from 1 pm – 5 pm. The meeting point is The Empire Leicester Square.
Guest speakers include long-standing animal activists including Robin Lane, 14-year-old Luke London, and Mel Broughton.
A ‘barbaric industry’
In a statement sent to Plant Based News, Emma Jade Easton, CEO at Evolve Activism said: “In 2019 there should be a worldwide ban on the production and sale of real fur, but unfortunately that is not the case and even though we’re seeing fur being banned on the high street and by many high-end designers including Prada, Chanel, and Gucci, there are still billions of animals like mink, rabbits, foxes, coyotes and raccoons that are needlessly killed for nothing more than unnecessary ‘fashion’ and vanity items.
“Until we see a global ban and every store, designer and market stall has stopped selling real fur, we will continue to take a stand against this barbaric industry and march against fur.”
