Plant Based News will receive a special award from vegan charity PETA at a London event next month.
The Compassionate Business Award, honoring the work PBN does in spreading a vegan message, will be presented by PETA Founder Ingrid Newkirk during the UK stop of her global tour, ‘We are All Animals’.
“Here at PETA we think the work you’re all doing at Plant Based News to educate and empower people so they can make life-saving and compassionate choices for animals is amazing,” a spokesperson said.

The award will be presented before Ingrid Newkirk’s talk in King’s Cross on October 21, where Mitchell and Lockie will give a short speech.
Following the presentation, BAFTA-nominated actress Anna Chancellor will introduce Newkirk as she shares ‘storytelling and her perspective on our relationship with the rest of the animal kingdom’.
The event, which is open to the public, will also feature vegan canapés and beverages. All proceeds from ticket sales and donations will be dedicated to PETA’s advocacy programs.

‘Honored’
“We feel so honored that PETA is recognizing our efforts,” said PBN Co-founder Robbie Lockie. “Here at PBN, we have a small but passionate team, who are committed to spreading a message of compassion – including our inspirational Investment Director Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed who has been a major force in driving us forward.
“It’s been amazing to see our content strike a chord with a growing audience,” added PBN Founder Klaus Mitchell.
“We work hard to keep people updated through our social media profiles, YouTube channel, and website. Being recognized for this by PETA is the icing on the vegan cake.”
