A new award-winning plant-based documentary wants to create awareness about the importance of a whole food, plant-based diet.

H.O.P.E (which stands for Healing Of Planet Earth) What You Eat Matters – features Austrian author and filmmaker Nina Messinger, as she goes on a journey through Europe, India and the US to investigate the consequences of our diet.

A number of experts were interviewed for the documentary, including Dr. Jane Goodall, T. Colin Campbell, PhD, surgeon, Caldwell B. Esselstyn, Jr., and psychologist Melanie Joy, PhD.

Diet

The film reveals the serious consequences the typical Western diet is having on animals, the planet, and human health.

According to the production team: “Half of the population in Western society suffers from being overweight. Cardio-vascular diseases, diabetes and cancer are epidemic.

“Our meat consumption has quintupled over the past 50 years. 65 billion land animals are being slaughtered every year for food consumption.

“One third of the global grain production is fed to animals for fattening while 1.8 billion people worldwide suffer from hunger and starvation.”
