Indian cricket star Virat Kohli has gone vegan, and says the change in lifestyle has improved his performance.
Kohli – who is captain of India’s national cricket team – started his plant-based diet about four months ago, but had been considering the change for years beforehand.
Benefits
According to the Times of India, a source has said that Kohli is ‘feeling stronger than ever before’.
A source also report improved digestion – and said that the athlete isn’t missing meat, dairy, or eggs.
Vegan athletes
Kohli is now one of a long list of professional athletes to adopt a vegan diet.
He’s joined the likes of pro footballer Héctor Bellerín, surfer Tia Blanco, F1 racer Lewis Hamilton, figure skater Meagan Duhamel, and boxer David Haye – all of whom advocate for a plant-based diet.
