TikTok sensation Tabitha Brown is the star of a humorous new Veganuary advert.

Veganuary, which encourages people around the world to try a vegan diet in January and beyond, describes the ad as ‘funny and light-hearted’.

It shows Brown – who has 4.5 million followers on TikTok and was named one of the platform’s top 10 creators of 2020 – encouraging people to take part, even if they are worried they won’t be ‘perfect’.

The ad shows Brown doing Veganuary, and ticking off the days on her calendar with smiley faces. Each day, she is shown eating vibrant, interesting vegan food options.

Towards the end of the month, she accidentally swallows a fly. The campaign slogan then comes up on screen. It says: “Nobody’s perfect. Let’s try anyway.”

According to Brown: “If you ever thought about going vegan but didn’t want to do it alone, Veganuary has you covered. We can all try it together at the same time.”

‘I love Tabitha Brown’

The ad has garnered thousands of views since being published on YouTube. Numerous viewers have left positive comments about the commercial and its star.

One commentator wrote: “Fantastic ad, and so very funny. I’ve signed up and I’m positive I’ll make it to the end of the month, and hopefully beyond.”

Another added: “I love Tabitha Brown. Have a good day and if you can’t, don’t go messing nobody else’s!”

Veganuary 2021

Veganuary had its first outing in 2014, with around 3,000 people taking part. Since then, more than 1,000,000 have signed up (with market research company Kantar estimating that ten times that number have taken part unofficially).

Next year (2021) is expected to be Veganuary’s biggest year yet, with 350,000 people already signing up to take the month-long pledge – a 50 percent increase from the same time last year.

Among those taking part in the initiative are big business leaders, including the leadership teams of companies including Tesco, Marks & Spencer, Bloomberg, and Nestlé among others.
