The screening line-up for a major new vegan film festival has been announced.

Organizers for the Ottawa International Vegan Film Festival, which aims to support vegan filmmakers by providing an avenue to show their films to new audiences ?have revealed they will be screening nine films at the event with takes place on October 14.

Movies on the bill include Patrik Babounian,?Built By Plants; Eating You Alive; and For the Voiceless.

The selected films feature areas including factory farming, health and fitness, and food and were picked from a long list of entries.

Event Founder Shawn Stratton told Plant Based News: “The festival ended up getting 29 films from eight countries totaling over 17 hours of vegan-themed films.”

He added: “Right now, the festival is a one-day event, but as it grows we would like to see it expand to a weekend and then a week with multiple screening rooms, seminars, and expert speakers from the plant-based community.”
