After nearly a century and a half, the curtain is coming down on ‘The Greatest Show on Earth’.
The owner of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus announced that the show will close forever in May.
The infamous show was felled by a variety of factors, including high operating costs and declining attendances.
Prolonged battles with animal rights groups also contributed significantly to its demise.
“There isn’t any one thing,” said Kenneth Feld, chairman.
“This has been a very difficult decision for me and for the entire family.”
