Maggie Baird, Mom of pop sensations Finneas O’Connell and Billie Eilish, has scooped a major award for her vegan charity.

Support + Feed was crowned ‘2020 Company of the Year’ by animal advocacy group PETA.

‘Helping to change the world’

“Support + Feed is helping to change the world, one delicious vegan meal at a time,” PETA President Ingrid Newkirk said in a statement.

“PETA is recognizing this small but mighty operation for being a glimmer of vegan hope in the weirdest year ever!”

Responding to the award on Instagram, Baird said: “Thank you to PETA for honoring Support + Feed and helping us spread the word and help more people in need!”

Support + Feed

Baird founded Support + Feed earlier this year to help those ‘greatly impacted’ by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as to support vegan restaurants in the Los Angeles area.

The charity has since expanded its US presence – with volunteers now working in New York, Washington D.C, and Philadelphia.

It has widened its mission to help people experiencing food insecurity, particularly in BIPOC and other communities – focusing on four main goals: nourish those in need, provide education, support the small business community, and positively impact the climate crisis.

Since April, the charity and its volunteers have served nearly 50,000 plant-based meals to those in need.
