The Facebook page for vegan environmental documentary Cowspiracy appears to have been maliciously hacked.
The page, which is ‘liked’ by over 300,000 people, has garnered attention from fans because of the unprecedented posts on its timeline.
These include posts about footballer Adam Johnson and salacious gossip pieces about celebrities.
User John Hovious has commented: “This page has been HACKED.
“Likely by the industries that it is trying to expose. Ignore these posts until they can recover their page. Please share this message; I am being blocked from posting it on some of these postings.”
Conspiracy?
Rita Lorena added: “This is not Cowspiracy’s post – they have been hacked as a way of discrediting their films. Please ignore all future posts like this one until the problem is fixed.”
Others also theorized that the hacking is due to people who oppose the pro-vegan message of the organization.
Facebook user Charlie Van Horn said: “The thing is this..when an account is hacked, posts like this do nothing, lol.
“A hacked account ultimately shows they ARE onto something…and with it being hacked will only make more people look into that something.”
