NFL star Cam Newton has credited veganism for experiencing a ‘remarkable change’ in his body.
The American quarterback made the statement in a recent video campaign for animal-rights charity PETA titled Built Like a Vegan.
‘Good tasty food’
“I’ve seen such a remarkable change in the way my body responds to the food that I eat,” Newton said, whilst constructing a vegan pretzel burger featuring pickles and guacamole.
“I don’t want people to think you can’t love food being vegan or that there’s not good tasty food that’s vegan – that’s completely false.”
“People often ask ‘how do you get your protein?’ You get it in the same way you do [now], but in a more fresher and cleaner way.”
‘Eat on schedule’
Newton also said ‘discipline’ is essential for people who don’t think they can adopt a ‘fully vegan’ lifestyle.
“My advice to a person who is just becoming vegan is to eat on schedule,” he said, “If you can eat on a schedule, you won’t miss [meat] or think anything different, and you’ll be alright.”
