Plant Based News can exclusively reveal that director Shaun Monson – famed for creating seminal documentary Earthlings – has a series of new films in the pipeline.

Working with actor Joaquin Pheonix, who voiced Earthlings, Monson will create a number of short movies focusing on the growing ‘Save’ movement.

His last release was documentary Unity, in 2015.

Save

According to the movement’s official website: “The Save Movement is comprised of groups around the world who bear witness of pigs, cows, chickens and other farmed animals en route to slaughter.

“Our goals are to raise awareness about the plight of farmed animals, to help people become vegan, and to build a mass-based, grassroots animal justice movement.

“The Save Movement started in December 2010 with the inception of Toronto Pig Save.

“Today there are over 170 groups in Canada, the U.S., U.K. & Ireland, Australia, continental Europe, Hong Kong, and South America.”

The movement has been gathering pace recently, with more people attending saves.

Mainstream newspaper The Guardian recently ran a photo special of a save vigil outside a pig slaughterhouse in Los Angeles.
