Three goats and two sheep arrived at their forever home at Barn Sanctuary in Michigan on Saturday.
The five animals arrived from Pennsylvania where they were rescued by the local Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals [SPCA] earlier this summer after being involved in a high speed police chase.
Now they will spend their lives in safety at the sanctuary, which is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and caring for farm animal refugees.
This includes any animals that have been abused, abandoned, sentenced to death, or are victims of natural disasters.
Chase
On June 15, a truck with 31 animals in it sped away from authorities in Pennsylvania, running lights, and attempting evasion from police for 34 miles before it was caught.
The truck was reported from neighborhood complaints about hearing animals in a residential neighborhood.
The two truck owners injured many of the animals in the attempted escape and killed four. According to the news report, they now face over 80 charges including animal cruelty.
Survivors
The animals have been under the care of the local SPCA since the chase.
The organization has been finding homes for the remaining survivors.
In September, Barn Sanctuary agreed to give several of these animals a forever home on their sanctuary.
On Saturday, the three young goats and the two sheep arrived at their new home at Barn Sanctuary in Chelsea, Michigan.

Safe
The goat and sheep will live the rest of their full lives on the sanctuary where they are guaranteed safety from any further stress, neglect, or abuse.
At Barn Sanctuary, each individual animal is cared for by animal care professionals and teams of volunteers.
The goats’ health is currently being carefully watched by Barn Sanctuary’s animal care team as their medical records revealed they were previously anemic and ill.
Barn Sanctuary is opening to the public for tours in the Spring 2018.
