Four attendees were injured after a Ribfest shooting in Pickering, Ontario on Saturday – adding human injury
to an event that is the result
of numerous animal deaths.
Human
victims
Four people
suffered gunshot wounds after fire was opened on the crowd around 11pm.
The
victims, two of whom were teenagers, all survived and have since been released
from the local hospital.
Ongoing
investigation
Police are
still investigating the incident and have yet to identify the shooter, or
shooters involved.
At this
time, investigators do not believe that the shooting was a random act of
violence.
Pickering
Mayor Dave Ryan took to Twitter to congratulate Ribfest on its ‘robust security
measures’, adding that ‘all levels of gov’t must work together to get these
illegal guns off our streets’.
