More than a quarter of Americans (28 percent) would turn down a date with a vegan, according to new polling.

This number dropped slightly to 25 percent for millennials, says the data from meal delivery service Food Box HQ.

And it appears men are less open-minded than women – with 33 percent saying they would not be interested in dating a herbivore.

Ditching meat?

A massive 70 percent of respondents said they wouldn’t give up meat for their partner,

Of those who would ditch meat for love, 10 percent said they would then secretly consume a pork chop behind their partner’s back.

According to the research, vegans are much more open-minded: with 90 percent saying they would date an omnivore.
